Lancaster Bee Keepers is friendly and growing group of hobbyist beekeepers who meet regularly throughout the year to share experiences and develop their beekeeping skills. Membership currently exceeds 140 members.

The Club offers all newcomers a comprehensive development package to ensure that they become competent beekeepers. Throughout the colder months at the beginning and end of each year we hold a diverse range of talks and lectures on a wide range of topics suitable for both novice and experienced beekeepers. This culminates at the end of the season with the annual honey show and annual dinner. During the summer months visits are made to members’ apiaries where practical demonstrations are staged.

The benefits of membership do not end here. Experienced Club members are always available to provide guidance and practical assistance when necessary. Club membership also includes public liability insurance, bee disease insurance, the six times yearly magazine of the British Beekeepers’ Association and invitations to the shows and conventions of other beekeeping clubs in the region.

Through our website we provide information on a wide range of beekeeping topics and keeps members up to date with all the latest news and developments.

Originally a branch of The Lancashire and North West Beekeepers’ Association which was founded in 1889, the Lancaster Branch was formed in 1942.

In 2010 the Branch became Lancaster Beekeepers, a charitable company limited by guarantee and directly affiliated to the British Beekeepers, Association. Its registered Office is located at High Tarn, Aughton, Lancaster, LA2 8LU. Registered in England No: 6845424, its charity registration number is 112891.

There is no specific boundary but we broadly operate from the coast in the west to the pennines in the east, from the river Kent in the north to the river Wyre in the south. The club welcomes new members and operates training courses for all who require them.
We are  currently working hard on creating a club apiary for which we have received funding. Work on access is due in the next weeks, and we hope to have it up and running this year.

We want to help you love your bees
